Well we arrived safe and sound in lovely London.
There are a few things that came to mind as Mom, Tania, Amanda, and I walked off the plane:
1. It's sunny!
2. It's hot!
3. Summer is back!!
For the past few days the weather has been nothing but beautiful and hot! Many of the English people whom I have come across have all expressed their excitement of the weather. Then they ask which state I am from.
We are settled into the house now. On the first day (Wednesday) we went on a bus tour around London! We managed to stay up the whole day without sleeping. I then went to pick up my house keys! I will send pictures of the house later on.*
Thursday I met with my agency and went to sort out when I will begin my supply teaching! I will be starting work next Wednesday.
Then we ventured to our local grocery store. The town that I am living in is called Wanstead. It is a lovely little place and it reminds me a lot of Ottawa actually. It is the distance of:
-Barrhaven to Ottawa ( for my Ottawa friends)
-Scarborough GO station (for my Toronto friends)
So it's a fairly good commute into downtown (central).
The plan for today is to head into Central and watch the changing of the guards and to get a few things for my room, such as a mirror. I need one badly! Oh to set up my phone too, that will be today's plan!
So... I hope I blogged right because I am not really sure if this is what I was supposed to do!
Miss you all!!
*Sadly, my camera circa 2002 does not read on my computer anymore so I am in the midst of figuring out what to do!
Hey Lisa,
ReplyDeleteGlad to see you are continuing the blog. I have some of the same pictures - all be it taken 25 years ago. Some things just don't change.
Looks like you are enjoying the experience!
