It has been over 5 months since I have updated my blog. I have decided to update it because my dear cousin, Matt, has offered to pay me a Loonie for every update I come up with. So to earn my Loonies, I am going to try as much as I can.
Where to begin....
I have moved up from year 2 to years 4-6. I moved to a new area after the holidays. I am currently living with my friend Rubina from back home. She too hails from Ajax, so it's nice to know there's a little part of the town with me here across the pond.
When I first moved out here I was doing cover work at her school, a secondary school. As you all know, this was my original calling in teaching. I vowed to be a history and English teacher. Well... not exactly. I was covering french, science, and boys Phys. Ed. Not exactly what I had in mind.
But then, I came across a lovely school. I went in for daily supply one day and have been there ever since. I absolutely love the school! The staff and children are wonderful. I am teaching an array of things but it is so much fun and I am learning so much everyday.
In other news...
I have also done some travelling!
For our February term break, Rubina, Tania, and I hailed out Baracelona! It was amazing!!! It was nice to be out in the sun and to soak up the heat!
Sagrada Familia Cathedral
The ladies and I inside!
Beautiful courtyard of a school in the Gothic city.
Then came along the Easter Break. At the beginning of the holidays I met up with my friend Greg in Paris. I absolutely loved that city!!! I can't wait to go back. The best part for sure in terms of travel there
was taking the Chunnel across! Such a cool experience.
PS- Marie Antoinette better make room for me in Versailles!!
Sacre Coeur Cathedral
Arc de Triumph
Crossing off number 35 of my 100 list: To stand under the Eiffel Tower.
Then after Paris, my friend Emily came over to visit. We toured around London, and we headed out Belfast, and yes Mum... It was on Easter Sunday... a bad Catholic girl that I am...
It was also a lovely city!! I am really enjoying travelling a lot. I am hoping to do Eastern Europe on my next rounds of travels.
Kate Winslet's dress from the movie in the Titanic exhibit.
Bobby Sands- the most photographed mural in the world.
Visiting the Bush Mills Distillery
At the Roped Bridge on the Coast.
My sister and cousin came to visit in March. They toured around London and it was great to have them here to visit.
In front of the London Eye
Making a quick phone call.
Of course we went to Abbey Road!
Also--- I will be returning to Canada this summer for a visit! I will be landing down in Ontario on the 21st and be returning to the UK at the end of the summer.
Over these past few months, whilst being absent from my blog, I have learned a lot, not only about teaching but about me. I have also really started to create a routined life here! I have taken up Zumba more now and I am loving more than I did before.
I will keep you posted more often on my adventures, seriously.... I promise!!!
Miss and love you all tonnes
