Well it's official... I'm 24.
I will start by saying my 2nd birthday in the UK was a lot easier than last year. The main things being:
It wasn't a brand new experience.
I have incredible friends who I am so lucky to see every single day.
My students are brilliant!
My roommate is the bee's knees.
I am so lucky and truly, truly blessed to have landed in Luton. I know when I first got here I was completely shocked and was not having Luton at all. When I moved to Luton, my intention was to stay for a couple months and move back to London. My initial plan when I moved to England was to move home in June 2012, but none of this happened. I have come to realize that over the past year, my plans, whatever they may be haven't always worked out as planned or as expected. Why you may be asking? One answer:
Life throws us unexpected, wonderful surprises to add into the mixing bowl that is life.
I am so happy and very fortunate to have the opportunity to work at such an incredible school, full of amazing and kind-hearted people.
I won't lie, I am feeling homesick this weekend as it is my birthday and it's Thanksgiving, but it has been made a lot easier to stomach with the surroundings of such wonderful and lovely people.
I wish you all a very Happy Thanksgiving and I hope you all will make me hand turkey.
